Ken Stabler listened to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Van Morrison in final moments

Oakland Raiders legend Ken Stabler died Wednesday due to complications from colon cancer at the age of 69.

The Stabler family released a statement Thursday about the sad news, the second paragraph of which gave us a very heartwarming detail about the departed former Super Bowl champ:

"He passed peacefully surrounded by the people he loved most, including his three daughters and longtime partner, as some of his favorite songs played in the background, such as Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Sweet Home Alabama' and Van Morrison's 'Leaves Falling Down.'"

The choice of Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" is no surprise for the Alabama-born Stabler.

RIP, Snake. And kudos on the music taste.
