Kellen Moore is comfortable with Detroit Lions' quarterback situation

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell made Dan Orlovsky the backup to starting quarterback Matthew Stafford last season, relegating former Boise State star Kellen Moore to a third-string role. Moore may vie for Orlovsky's job this year, according to Kyle Meinke of MLive.com, but the QB is comfortable either way.

"Like it here. Simple as that," Moore told MLive.com. "We've been here for three years, and it has been fun. We have a good room, you know? It's just a good situation."

Orlovsky has more experience than Moore, who hasn't played a single game since joining the Lions in 2012, with nearly 472 pass attempts through seven seasons. Yet, Moore's contract has more guaranteed money than Orlovsky's, according to MLive.com.

Maybe the Lions see something in Moore.

"The great thing about it is I think (Moore) has been developing," Caldwell said. "Big O is certainly getting another feel for the offense as well. It'll be a pretty good opportunity for us to kind of see where they both are coming up."

If all goes according to plan, Stafford will stay healthy and neither Orlovsky nor Moore will play in 2015. But during the offseason, backup quarterback is a topic worth talking about.
