Kaepernick has Four Games Left to Prove Himself

After a woeful performance last week, Colin Kaepernick has four games left to prove his worth as a starting quarterback in the NFL — or whether he belongs to the annals of the league’s backups.

Colin Kaepernick faces what may be the most pivotal four game stretch of his career. If he can resurrect his flash and substance, he could be do for a payday and another shot as a starter in the NFL — be with the San Francisco 49ers or another team. If he fails or gets pulled (again), he may never get another great shot.

Kaepernick, of course, brought the 49ers to the Super Bowl in the 2012-13 Season. He has had success in this league. But he no longer looks like the player he once was. Perhaps this is regression on his part. Perhaps defenses simply figured him out.

Most likely, both of those factors are true.

One week removed from a game in which Kaepernick was widely praised — perhaps overly so — he turned in one of the worst games of his career.

Yes, it was cold. Yes, it was snowing. But Kap is a Wisconsin native who destroyed the Packers in a freezing game a couple of years ago. There is no excuse for going 1-5 for 4 yards. Being sacked 5 times for 25 yards certainly didn’t help his case either.

This week’s matchup against the Jets could prove to be another good chance for Kaepernick to showcase his talent. He certainly needs to if he wants teams to look at him as a starter. Kap has already decided he will void his contract this offseason, so he needs to give other teams a reason to sign him.
