Julio Jones says Usain Bolt wouldn't be able to outrun NFL defenses

Usain Bolt is a fast, gigantic man.

At 6'5, 207 pounds, the Jamaican sprinter and 100-meter world record holder is one of the most anomalous athletes on the planet, and because we are human and infinitely entertained by impossible hypotheticals, our natural tendency is to wonder "What could this guy do if Bolt played [X and Y] sport?"

According to Julio Jones, if we're talking American football, the answer is not much.

The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver gave his assessment of how Bolt's speed and size would translate as an NFL wide receiver. Per ESPN's Vaughn McClure, Jones called the Jamaican's speed  "impressive," but doesn't think it would account for much in the league.

"You've got to have that burst to get going. Like [U.S. sprinter] Justin Gatlin. Justin Gatlin gets out quick. There's like a bunch of Justin Gatlins in football. They get to that speed quick and they can catch it before you open up. So it would hard for [Bolt] to really pull away from guys in football."
