Julian Edelman: Patriots are 'the villain' against the Bills

by Doug Kyed

The New England Patriots are channeling their inner Super Shredder this week as they prepare to head north and face the Buffalo Bills.

Wide receiver Julian Edelman knows the Patriots won’t have many fans at Ralph Wilson Stadium, so he’s ready to play “the villain” on Sunday afternoon.

“I think there’s just something about going in a hostile environment where no one likes you,” Edelman said. “It’s always fun.”

Bills fans will be fired up as the defending Super Bowl champions come to town, and that will make communication extra difficult for the Patriots’ offense. The Patriots are practicing to combat those challenges.

“We’ve all played in loud games,” Edelman said. “We practice stuff like that to try to simulate that in practice and get those kind of reps to practice it. Hopefully we can communicate non-verbally and go out there and execute.”
