Josh Norman rips Odell Beckham Jr. on radio, has no respect for him
It's Monday, and Carolina Panthers DB Josh Norman is still destroying New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. with his words.
Norman was fired up after Sunday's game in which he and Beckham Jr. went at it on the field in an ugly duel that included dirty cheap shots, and the day after the battle he was still heated.
"I just pretty much showed people what this guy really is, and what he stands for," Norman said on Mike and Mike. "I just don't feel like that's a part of the game that should be played. If you want to play, let's play it straight up, let's do it the right way ... When you take that too far, when you go at somebody maliciously like that, go head-hunting ... If you want that kind of game, that's outside of the game. That's not even the rulebook anymore. That's on some other type of stuff."
The feud between Norman and Beckham Jr. was brewing the week before when Odell wore Joker cleats against the Miami Dolphions, which most took as an early shot at Norman, who refers to himself as Batman. Beckham Jr. denied his cleats had anything to do with Norman, but of course the Panthers DB called him out on that. Per ESPN:
Norman also said that Beckham Jr. should have been ejected for a headshot he took on him.
"I mean I don't see how they didn't see that from up top," Norman said on Mike and Mike. "Ring down and be like, 'Get this guy out of here.' They ring down for everything else. I mean concussion protocol, I had to get checked out myself. I'm going to go in there and get checked out again. I mean that was crazy. But at the end of the day, they got it right, they got the call right, they saw what's up."
There's no reason to feel bad for Norman, though. He returned home to Charlotte a hero and will be king of the city while the Panthers continue to have a good laugh.
