Jonathan Martin's season is over, Dolphins place him on NFI list

Jonathan Martin is no longer on the Miami Dolphins active roster.

The team placed the second-year offensive tackle on the non-football injury list Saturday, FOX Sports 1’s NFL insider Mike Garafolo reports.

The move, which frees up a spot on the 53-man roster, immediately ends Martin’s season. Martin, who has been away from the team after a much-publicized spat between he and Richie Incognito, will continue to make his salary, according to Garafolo.

Incognito was initially suspended without pay, but agreed to give up only two game checks and extend his suspension another two weeks on Friday.

An NFL investigation about the allegations, spearheaded by Ted Wells, is ongoing.
