Joey Bosa and the Chargers have reportedly resumed contract talks
Joey Bosa has yet to report to training camp over a contract dispute with the San Diego Chargers, and with neither side willing to even talk with the other, there didn't appear to be an end in sight.
There's been no progress, but at least the talks have resumed, according to a report from USA Today.
The NFL made sure to add a rookie salary scale to its most recent collective bargaining agreement specifically to avoid these situations, but the Chargers are trying to do two things that have given Bosa's camp pause.
San Diego wants to push about half of the payment of Bosa's $17 million signing bonus out until March, and they want offset language to be included in his deal. This would give them financial relief in the event Bosa was released during the contract and ended up playing somewhere else.
The Chargers selected Bosa with the third overall pick in this year's draft.
