Joe Namath calls out Geno Smith after he suffers knee injury

Joe Namath still keeps a close eye on his New York Jets despite not wearing their uniform for 40 years. So when Broadway Joe saw Geno Smith leave in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Ravens with a knee injury, he was surely concerned.

But Namath also questioned the severity of Smith’s injury when he saw the 26-year-old quarterback standing on the sideline after halftime.

Smith suffered the injury after being sacked by Baltimore defensive end Matt Judon and appeared to try to convince doctors to return to the game. After being evaluated, Smith was taken to the locker room, and Ryan Fitzpatrick took over.

Smith took the high road when he found out about Namath's comments.

Fitzpatrick finished 9 of 14 for 120 yards and a touchdown in the Jets’ 24-16 win. Smith completed 4 of 8 attempts for 95 yards and a touchdown before the injury.
