Jets sign K Randy Bullock, place Nick Folk on season-ending IR

The New York Jets will be without kicker Nick Folk for the remainder of the season. On Tuesday, the Jets announced they've signed former Texans kicker Randy Bullock and placed Folk on season-ending injured reserve.

Folk injured his right quadriceps in Sunday's game and was unable to kick but did remain in the game to hold for punter Ryan Quigley. Todd Bowles said on Monday that the injury would take a minimum of four weeks to heal but didn't say the Jets would place Folk on injured reserve.

Folk had yet to miss a single game in five-plus seasons with the Jets and has been a reliable and durable kicker for New York. This season, Folk made 13-of-16 field goal attempts and converted on all 19 of his extra point tries.

Bullock has made just over 80 percent of his field goal attempts in just over two seasons with the Texans, though he did miss two-of-three extra points this season. A year ago, Bullock made 30-of-35 of his field goal attempts with a long of 55 yards.
