Jets RB Tomlinson returns after missing time

New York Jets running back LaDainian Tomlinson headed to the sideline with a knee injury in the first quarter Sunday against the Washington Redskins but was back on the field in the third quarter.

Tomlinson missed the previous two games with a left knee injury.

He was slow to get up after a 16-yard catch-and-run during New York's opening drive Sunday, and the Jets initially said his return was questionable.

Tomlinson was in during the Jets' second drive of the second half.
