Jerry Jones reportedly adamant Cowboys won't take QB with No. 4 pick
Decisions, decisions. The Dallas Cowboys know Tony Romo isn't getting any younger, especially after missing a large chunk of last season because of multiple injuries to his collarbone.
So it would make sense for the Cowboys to maybe prepare for the future and possibly select a quarterback with the fourth-overall pick, right?
Well, Cowboys fans know Jerry Jones isn't so big on planning for the future, especially when the team is selecting so high in this year draft.
"Jerry told me recently that he will unequivocally not take a quarterback at No. 4, where the Cowboys draft this year. I believe him," NFL Media senior analyst Gil Brandt wrote. "It makes sense if you think Romo will make a full recovery from offseason surgery, will be your starter for at least three more years, and your team has a window of opportunity that will remain open by filling more glaring needs with the top pick in the draft."
If the 35-year-old Romo is healthy next season, this makes total sense. But as Cowboys fans know all too well, that's going to be a big if.
