Jeremy Maclin puts Chiefs' receiving struggles in the rear-view mirror
Remember when no Chiefs wideout grabbed a touchdown last season?
Jeremy Maclin might. But Kansas City's top weapon is making everyone forget after that ignominious streak after his finest outing in red and gold.
His nine-catch, 160-yard outing was punctuated with a score that evaded every K.C. receiver last fall. It's no flash in the pan performance; take a look at Maclin's season stats.
Those numbers put Maclin at No. 16 overall in receiving. But last year, the Chiefs didn't have a single wideout in the top 50 -- Dwayne Bowe (754 yards) was No. 55 on the year.
This is a different Chiefs team. It'll throw deep to Maclin at will -- like it did on the first play of preseason -- and dare defensive minds like Rex Ryan to stop him.
