Jalen Collins: 'I've gotten myself under control'
The Atlanta Falcons drafted a player who some would consider a "risk" with their second-round pick in cornerback Jalen Collins from LSU. One person who doesn't consider him a risk? Collins himself, according to Jeff Schultz of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“I personally don’t think I’m a risk,” the Falcons’ second-round pick said after a light workout at a Falcons rookie camp. “I know myself. I’ve gotten myself under control. I’m living right.”
As Schultz points out, the "news leaked before the draft that Collins failed three drug tests at LSU. The time-frame is non-specific, but Collins said his problems primarily came in his sophomore season in 2013."
The fact that Collins is still willing to step up and talk about the issues, as well as face them to the media before his rookie season is a great thing. The former Tiger is loaded with talent, so here's to hoping that he truly has put the past in the past.
