Jaguars sticking by Myers despite yet another missed extra point

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Jason Myers missed his NFL-leading seventh extra point in Sunday's 51-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts, but to hear Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley tell it, Myers' upside still outweighs the difficulty he's causing the team on point-after attempts.

Myers has missed four extra points in the last three games, and while Bradley acknowledged the misses are a problem, he said the Sunday was Myers' best performance of the season. The rookie converted all six extra points he attempted after the miss Sunday, while all nine of his kickoffs resulted in touchbacks.

While Myers has struggled with extra points, he's had much more success with field goals, connecting on 23-of-27 attempts, including a 46-yarder against Indianapolis.

“I look at how does a guy respond? How does he adjust?” Bradley said. “We really need to look at the whole operation: the snap, the hold, the kick and really pay particular attention to all of that. … We’ve got to remove this part from the game and I think there’s enough things that we’re seeing, that his leg strength and how he handled adversity is something that we’re taking into consideration.”
