Jaguars draft Florida State CB Jalen Ramsey at No. 5
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey with the fifth pick in the NFL Draft, continuing a rebuild of their defense.
Ramsey had just three interceptions in three seasons at FSU -- and none as a junior in 2015 -- but he has the size of a safety and the speed of a cornerback and was regarded by many as the best defensive player in the draft.
Ramsey (6-1, 209) runs a 4.41 40 and has a 41.5-inch vertical leap, athleticism that gave him the confidence to make headlines leading up to the draft by tellling anyone who would listen he was the best player available.

General manager Dave Caldwell called choosing Ramsey "an easy decision."
Ramsey started all 41 games in three years in college, finishing with 180 tackles, 23 passes defended, five sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles.
He's the latest piece in Jacksonville's defensive rebuilding project. The team spent more than $214 million on six defensive starters in free agency the past two years.
