Jags WR Allen Robinson working his way back
A stress fracture in his foot cut Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson's rookie season short. Now, after months of rehab, the former second-round pick is relishing the chance to be back on the field during OTAs this week.
"It felt good to be back," Robinson said, according to ESPN's Mike DiRocco. "Something that I worked for throughout the offseason was to get back to this point and get back out there with my team."
Robinson took part in some of Jacksonville's 11-on-11 drills on Monday. Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley said the team is taking a conservative with working Robinson back into practice.
"He’s doing well," Bradley said, via DiRocco. 'He’s had the same amount of reps, a couple reps per period, so we’re bringing him on slow, but he’s really progressing nicely. Hopefully we can get to the point next week where he gets more reps."
The 21-year-old Robinson was had 48 receptions for 548 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games last season, said he's picking up new coordinator Greg Olson's offense well, despite the limited practice time.
"At the same time when I’m not playing I’m still trying to get my reps, my mental reps, still meeting with guys after practice and stuff like that just to try to go over something else so when I got back this time I’ll be able to jump right in," Robinson said. "That was my goal while I was out."
