Jacksonville WR Hurns extends touchdown streak to seven
With his touchdown in the Jaguars' 22-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens, Jacksonville wide receiver Allen Hurns extended his franchise-record streak of games with a touchdown reception to seven on Sunday.
Hurns continued the streak with a five-yard catch from quarterback Blake Bortles in the first quarter.
“I never had a streak like that in high school or even Pop Warner,” Hurns said, per the Florida Times-Union. “I saved it for the NFL. That’s pretty exciting. After the game, you realize how cool that is.”
The second-year receiver finished the game with five catches for 62 yards. He sprained his left foot in last Sunday's loss to the Jets and was in a walking boot during the week, missing practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, but showed no ill-effects against Baltimore.
“He’s unbelievable,” Bortles said. “He was a little banged up and played his tail off. He’s as tough as they come. It’s an honor and privilege to be on a team with him and guys like him.”
Hurns now has 41 catches for 697 yards and seven touchdowns on the year.
