Isame Faciane released by Minnesota Vikings following DUI
The Minnesota Vikings are sending a strong message to the locker room by releasing offensive lineman Isame Faciane one week after being arrested for a DUI.
Recently, the Minnesota Vikings organization has been working to ensure they have a great group of players in the locker room who also meet certain standards off the football field. Sadly, one individual recently found himself on the wrong side of the law and paid the price.
News broke today that the team has released practice squad member Isame Faciane just one week after it was announced the offensive lineman was arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.
Hopes were high for Faciane, who the team had moved from the defensive line to the offensive side of the ball to see if he could stick with the team. While he didn’t make the 53 man roster, the lineman impressed the team enough to earn a spot on the practice squad.

Sadly, that hard work was for naught, as poor decisions off the field led to him to being released. To fill his vacant spot on the practice squad roster, the Vikings have brought back cornerback Tre Roberson.
Hopefully, this isn’t the end of the story for Isame Faciane, who has been able to put forth some encouraging performances on the field. Everyone makes mistakes, but the bright light of the NFL can shine ever so brightly on the players, bringing their errors to light in major ways.
With the recent news of defensive coordinator George Edwards’ DWI arrest and careless driving conviction from the Pioneer Press, it will be interesting to see what the team’s next step is.
Best of luck to Isame Faciane going forward with his career in the NFL. Also, welcome back to the Minnesota Vikings practice squad, Tre Roberson.
