Isaiah Pead's Jersey Worn by UC Bearcats' Tion Green: Photo

University of Cincinnati running back Tion Green wore an Isaiah Pead jersey during Friday night’s game against Tulsa.

University of Cincinnati Bearcats running back Tion Green paid tribute to former NFL running back Isaiah Pead, who was critically injured in a car accident on the morning of November 12th after blowing out his tire while driving at a high speed.

Pead was a star running back for Cincinnati before his days in the NFL and compiled 3,288 yards and 27 touchdowns on the ground in his four years at the school. He broke the 1,000-yard mark in total yards three times and his senior season saw him post over 1,500 total yards and 15 touchdowns.

On Friday night during the Bearcats’ game with the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes, Green showed his respect for Pead by wear his jersey:

Pead was drafted in the second round of the 2012 draft by the then-St. Louis Rams and spent four years with the organization before moving on to the Miami Dolphins. He was later cut by Miami and had last worked out for the Kansas City Chiefs prior to his crash.

As a result of the horrific accident that nearly took his life, Pead’s leg had to be amputated and it was announced his NFL career was over. A sad turn of events for a talented player who is only 26, however it’s more important he escaped with his life.
