Hillis out for Browns; Edwards active for 49ers
Peyton Hillis is inactive for the Cleveland Browns against the San Francisco 49ers, the second straight game the starting running back has missed because of a strained left hamstring.
Wide receiver Braylon Edwards is active for the 49ers on Sunday for the first time since he had surgery on his right knee, which was injured in a loss against Dallas in Week 2. The former Browns receiver was limited in practice this week.
Hillis had been questionable to play but made the trip to San Francisco hoping his hamstring would improve. Montario Hardesty will make his second consecutive start in Hillis' place.
Mohamed Massaquoi also is inactive for the Browns. The wide receiver sustained a concussion last Sunday.
