Hey Chargers, don't fire McCoy or Telesco

We go forward. “Forget the past and let ‘er rip!”. First play at Oakland, give Melvin Gordon the ball. Travis Benjamin gets the first pass. Get Hunter Henry into the end zone again. Let the youngsters grow. find a way to get Joey Bosa on the field, take chances on defense. Time to go on an 8-game winning streak. Nobody is unbeatable in this league and eventually the breaks will start falling our way if we keep hammering! If we feel sorry for ourselves and start assigning the “blame game”, we’ll never get past it and never get better, much less get a new stadium built.
Instead, all I’m hearing and reading about is “fire McCoy”. I hate to tell you this guys, it’s not his fault! The coaches control what they can control. They can’t run the rock, throw the pass or catch the ball. I actually think the Chargers have been in a great spot to win every game. The players need to step up and make the plays. Chuck Noll, great Steelers coach in the 70’s never gave an inspirational half-time speech. His philosophy? Play the way you practice. The Chargers have done that for almost all of their games. The faulty play at the end of games has been so unusual the coaches couldn’t have predicted it. Also, the team has been coached not to fumble, not to go extra hard if it means risking ball security and yet the kids (Gordon, Henry) were so excited they did the opposite. Will they be talked to, coached up, heck yes!
Now is the time to get mad! It’s Raiders week! Don’t let the past get in the way. No smiles on the practice field, just angry leers. No watching comedies on TV or at the movies, just game film and horror shows. Get mad, stay mad and head for Oakland mad.
Let ‘er rip!
