Guy who scored signed UGGs from Tom Brady admits he faked 'lost tooth' story
The things people will do to secure a pair of UGGs signed by Tom Brady.
Back in December, Patriots fan Luke Barosky posted on Facebook that he had fallen and lost a tooth trying to secure one of the three signed pairs of UGG slippers Tom Brady had squirreled around the Boston area as part of a scavenger hunt.
The post quickly went viral and eventually caught the attention of the New England Patriots quarterback, who took pity on Barosky and sent him a signed pair for his efforts.
Only, South Boston resident Barosky admitted to the Boston Globe that he had made up the story — and himself, with the help of some Halloween makeup from CVS.
“In all honesty,” Barosky told the Globe, “I never meant any ill will, and I thought it was pretty obvious it was all a joke.”
To make up for his deception, the 32-year-old freelance graphic designer said he was going to donate one of the slippers to the All Dorchester Sports League, who the Globe reported will put the slipper up for auction at their annual fundraiser in March.
But according to the Globe, Barosky said he was holding on to the second slipper — at least for now — because it has his name written on it, and he figures it won’t be of interest to someone who is not named “'Luke.'”
