Guard Orlando Franklin agrees to 5-year deal with Chargers

SAN DIEGO (AP) The San Diego Chargers have agreed to terms of a five-year contract with guard Orlando Franklin, an unrestricted free agent from AFC West rival Denver.

Franklin has been a starter since his rookie season of 2011. He started all 17 games at left guard in 2014, including the divisional playoff game. During his first three seasons he started 53 of 54 games at right tackle.

Franklin's only missed start came in 2013 when he was sidelined by a sprained left knee for a game against Indianapolis.

Also Monday, the Chargers agreed to a two-year contract with restricted free agent center Trevor Robinson and a one-year deal with defensive end Ricardo Mathews.

Robinson started the finale in Kansas City, the team's fifth different starting center during the season.

Mathews played in 12 games with two starts.
