Greene agrees to deal with Titans

Chris Johnson has a new backup in Tennessee.

The Titans have reportedly agreed with running back Shonn Greene on a three-year, $10 million contract, according to ESPN.

Greene was a 1,000-yard rusher for the Jets the past two seasons. Greene, though, has failed to show much burst or pass-catching ability since joining New York as a 2009 third-round draft pick.

Greene’s pounding style should serve to complement that of the speedier Johnson, who rushed for 1,243 yards and six touchdowns in 2012.

The Jets are expected to make a less pricey free-agent signing to replace Greene.
