Green Bay Packers WR Nelson cleared, DB Rollins placed on NFI list

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson, a Pro Bowler in 2014, avoided the physically unable to perform (PUP) list by passing his pre-camp physical on Wednesday, according to Weston Hodkiewicz of Press-Gazette Media. This, after he sat out in the spring due to offseason hip surgery.

Second-round rookie Quinten Rollins, a cornerback, wasn't as fortunate. He was placed on the non-football injury (NFI) list, per Press-Gazzete Media meaning whatever's sidelining him must have occurred away from a Packers practice field/facility.

The report also named outside linebacker Mike Neal, receiver Ricky Collins and running back John Crockett as players who were placed on the PUP list. Crockett injured his ankle in minicamp, but the injuries to Neal and Collins are undisclosed. All three, plus Rollins, can return to practice once cleared by the Packers' medical staff.

Other players who avoided PUP, per the report, were outside linebacker Nick Perry (shoulder surgery), defensive lineman Josh Boyd (knee), cornerback Casey Hayward (foot), offensive lineman Don Barclay, outside linebacker Andy Mulumba and receiver Jared Abbrederis. Barclay, Mulumba and Abbrederis are each off reconstructive knee surgery.
