Giovani Bernard reportedly has torn ACL as Bengals suffer another big blow

The Cincinnati Bengals came into Sunday’s game against the Bills seeking their first win in three weeks. They left with their sixth loss of the season and potentially season-ending injuries to two of their top offensive threats.

Pro Bowl wideout A.J. Green’s day ended early when he suffered a torn hamstring that could be serious. If that wasn’t bad enough, star running back Giovani Bernard reportedly will undergo surgery to repair a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season.

Bernard’s production in the running game has slipped this season after his breakout 2015 campaign. He’s averaged just 3.7 yards per carry in 2016 after picking up 4.7 yards per handoff last year.

Bernard hasn’t had a 100-yard rushing game this season but has been a threat in the passing game. He is third on the Bengals in receiving yards and second in receptions.
