Garafolo: Eagles, CB Maxwell closing in on six-year, $63M deal

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to land top free-agent cornerback Byron Maxwell, FOX Sports 1's NFL insider Mike Garafolo reports.

Maxwell and the Eagles are closing in on a deal valued at $63 million over six years with $25 million in guarantees, per Garafolo.

Maxwell, 27, began his career with the Seattle Seahawks and was a full-time starter at cornerback for them last season.

Selected in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Maxwell is expected to be among the first wave of players to sign their deals once the new league year begins on Tuesday.
