Former Eagles president Joe Banner rips Byron Maxwell for effort

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Byron Maxwell certainly hasn't had the season many hoped for when he signed a six-year, $63 million contract this past offseason. After the Eagles' 45-17 Week 11 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, blame is being tossed around, and Maxwell finds himself among the scapegoats.

Former Eagles team president and current ESPN analyst Joe Banner called Maxwell out for his "effort" and "toughness" during the team's big loss.

Maxwell joins DeMarco Murray as the second Eagle to be called out for his effort level in the span of 24 hours. At 4-6 now, the Eagles need a win in the worst of ways against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving in Week 12.
