Father: Former Falcons OT Baker 'probably just concluded his career'
It appears the playing days of former Atlanta Falcons offensive lineman Sam Baker have come to an end.
David Baker, Sam's father and the Pro Football Hall of Fame president, told Gil Brandt and me Tuesday on SiriusXM NFL Radio that his son "probably just concluded his career" because of injuries that maligned him for most of the past seven seasons in Atlanta.
Baker, 30, was released in June after missing all of last season with a torn patella tendon. His best season came in 2012 when he started all 16 games, which led to Baker landing a six-year, $41.1 million contract with a $10 million signing bonus.
Baker started 61 games for the Falcons after being a 2008 first-round draft pick.
