Fantasy Football Start or Sit Week 4: RB Bilal Powell

Heading into Week 4 Fantasy Football action, running back Bilal Powell of the New York Jets is a must-start against the Seattle Seahawks.

As the New York Jets do their very best to bounce back this week against the Seattle Seahawks, all eyes will be on their running game. Running back Bilal Powell hasn’t been utilized as much as he should be this season as fantasy football owners have probably been worried what is taking so long for him to deliver.

It’s no secret that this team is built to run the football but last week, they thought they could air it out and expect similar results. They let quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick throw for 44 times in their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs but don’t expect that to happen agin in Week 4 against the Seahawks.

Expect to not only see a heavy dose of running back Matt Forte this week but also Powell spelling relief for him and getting a chunk of the action. Powell excels as a dual-threat kind of option out of the backfield as offensive coordinator Chan Gailey will undoubtedly use him heavily in this game.

The Seahawks and their famous “Legion of Boom” will be on full display as the Jets do their best to put their season back in the right direction. With injuries to wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker (out) on Sunday, it’ll be up to the Jets’ running game to keep those chains moving.

So far this season, Powell has only totaled 73 rushing yards, nine attempts, and zero touchdowns.

As a receiving target, Powell has just totaled 49 yards, nine receptions, and again, zero touchdowns.

Powell was one of the main reasons last season that the Jets were on that hot streak towards the end since he was an x-factor in every game until he was injured.

It’s unclear why Gailey hasn’t used him to his potential just yet but considering the abysmal loss by the Jets last week, it’s time to use him heavily thanks to his potential.

For Powell, if his number is called, he will undoubtedly prove that he can carry this team to a big game if given the opportunity. He did it so many times last year and well, this team needs a spark back on offense as he’d be the perfect player to bring it.

Overall, fantasy football owners should use Powell as their flex option this week. He’ll be put in a position to score a plethora of points and will more than likely end Week 4 with at least a touchdown or two.
