Falcons pick San Jose State cornerback King in 7th round

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) The Atlanta Falcons have selected San Jose State cornerback Akeem King in the seventh round of the NFL draft.

King was the fourth defensive player chosen by the Falcons, who took pass rusher Vic Beasley No. 8 overall, cornerback Jalen Collins in the second round and nose tackle Grady Jarrett in the fifth.

King emerged in San Jose State's scheme last year after spending his junior year as a reserve. He started 12 games last season, finishing with 71 tackles and two pass breakups.
