Falcons likely to keep focus on defense in NFL draft
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) One by one, the Atlanta Falcons have been addressing needs in the NFL draft - especially on defense.
Five picks in Saturday's final four rounds should bring the Falcons more defensive help. There may be room to add another offensive player, perhaps a lineman.
The top need was pass rusher. Clemson's Vic Beasley, the No. 8 overall pick, was regarded by some as the draft's most explosive edge rusher.
First-year coach Dan Quinn wanted a big cornerback. LSU's Jalen Collins is 6-foot-2 and quick - though he brings a history of three failed drug tests.
Finally, Indiana's Tevin Coleman, a third-round pick, gives Atlanta a new contender to start at running back after 2014 starter Steven Jackson was released.
