Ezekiel Elliott's amazing start is surpassed by only one Hall of Fame running back

Ezekiel Elliott has turned out to be everything the Dallas Cowboys expected when they took him with the fourth overall pick in April. After two sub-par games to start his career, the former Ohio State star has been nothing short of spectacular, eclipsing 100 rushing yards in each of his next four games.

Elliott continued to shred opposing defenses Sunday, rushing for a career-high 157 yards against the Packers. He’s averaging 5 yards per carry through his first six games and has run for 703 yards and five touchdowns.

Elliott’s start is something the NFL hasn’t seen in more than 30 years, when Eric Dickerson broke into the NFL with Rams. In fact, Dickerson is the only player since 1933 who has run for more yards in a player’s first six games than Elliott, according to ESPN. The Hall of Famer ran for 787 yards in his first six games in 1983.

Elliott leads the NFL in rushing yards and attempts and is second in rushing touchdowns, helping the Cowboys jump out to a 5-1 start. Not too bad, rook.
