Ezekiel Elliott: The Running Back and Comedian

Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott appears to be as easy going and successful off the field with teammates as he is on it.

Walking around the Dallas Cowboys locker room with phone in hand. Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott sees his target. Zeke hits record, and then its everywhere. Its a pair of feet wearing Adidas’ Yeezy Boost 350.

“You finally stepped your shoe game up man”, says Elliott. The phone camera pans upward and shows fellow room mate and starting rookie quarterback Dak Prescott smiling. It’s a proud moment following days of friendly ridicule on Twitter.

When he’s not chasing Prescott around the locker room off the field, on the field Elliott has exceeded every expectation. In his first seven contests in the NFL, the former Ohio State alum has exceeded the 100-yard mark four out of seven games. It would’ve been five if it wasn’t for a 63 yard play being negated for holding.

What makes this feat even more impressive is that it accomplished in four consecutive games. This shows that Elliott can run the ball effectively game after game and can be trusted as the lone back.

The impressive stats don’t stop there. Elliott leads the NFL in total rushing yards (799) and averages 114 yards per game – also the NFL’s best. Do you know what else he’s good at? Getting made fun of by Dak Prescott: http://www.mobypicture.com/user/dak1/view/19467601

Elliott seems to be a great guy in the locker room and inspiring on the field. He is all this despite facing domestic abuse allegations and while Elliott’s good behavior certainly doesn’t make it okay, it certainly helps his public perception.

These days perception is reality. And perception right now of Elliott the football player is that he is showing flashes of some of the league’s all-time great running backs. That is not a bad way to start off your first year in professional football.

The only thing Elliott has to do is ensure that he doesn’t put himself to be in any kind of trouble with law enforcement. He has to keep focused on the field.

Lastly, Zeke has to get him some better looking shoes. It is an absolute must. The NFL’s leading rusher cannot be caught walking around in silly looking shoes. Much less, any starting running back for America’s Team. If Elliott won’t do it for me, he should at least do it so Prescott won’t be chasing him around the Cowboys locker room with his camera phone.
