Eric Ebron jabs new Lions TE coach Golden on day of his hiring

On Monday evening, the Detroit Lions hired former Miami Hurricanes head coach Al Golden to coach the team's tight ends. Less than 10 minutes later, he was roasted by a player he may not have even met yet.

After hearing about the news, Lions tight end Eric Ebron Tweeted his thoughts on the team's decision to hire Golden as his new position coach.

Via Ebron's official Twitter account:

Ebron is referencing a 2013 game between the Hurricanes and his North Carolina Tar Heels. Although the Heels lost that contest, 27-23, Ebron tore up Golden's 10th-ranked 'Canes with eight receptions for 199 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown.

After witnessing his dominance first hand in college, Golden's goal should be to unlock Ebron's untapped potential at the professional level. The super-athletic tight end, who was the 10th-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, has averaged fewer than 30 yards per game through his first two seasons.
