Eric Berry picks off Matt Ryan for two huge points (Video)
Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry makes Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan look a fool on this pick for two points on a failed two-point conversion.
The Atlanta Falcons briefly took a 28-27 point lead over the Kansas City Chiefs late in the fourth quarter of their Week 13 matchup. Quarterback Matt Ryan found wide receiver Aldrick Robinson for the go-ahead touchdown.
To try to make it a field goal deficit for Kansas City, Atlanta unwisely went for two. Ryan’s two-point passing attempt was picked off by none other than Chiefs safety Eric Berry. Berry took it to the house and Kansas City would go on to win 29-28.
1) ATL scores TD, takes lead
2) ATL goes for 2
3) Berry PICKS IT OFF, goes the distanceKC takes the lead. UNREAL! https://t.co/FCrLGtx4Ki

Berry would be responsible for eight of Kansas City’s 29 points in this game. Keep in mind that he plays safety for the Chiefs. The guy is one of the all-time greats in the Kansas City secondary. He had quite the homecoming against the Falcons in the Georgia Dome.
Berry grew up in suburban Atlanta and played his college football in the SEC at the University of Tennessee. After he pick-sixed Ryan near the end of the first half, Berry handed the football to his mom in the stands.
Not to be outdone, his 99-yard two-point return would be the difference in the ball game. Atlanta really didn’t want to lose by a Cairo Santos game-winning field goal. This is a crushing loss for the Falcons and an outstanding win for the Chiefs.
Kansas City improves to 9-3 on the season, while Atlanta falls to 7-5 on the year. Going for two was maybe the right decision for Atlanta in that situation, but why did Ryan throw the football in Berry’s direction?
