Eagles owner says '15 was the most disappointing season he's ever endured
Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie voiced his reasoning on Wednesday and detailed why he fired head coach Chip Kelly.
Lurie, who met with the media for nearly 20 minutes at the Novacare Complex a day after he parted ways with Kelly (26-21 in three seasons), said that the team didn't meet expectations and underwhelmed consistently.
The decision to fire Kelly comes a year after Lurie gave him full control over personnel decisions. Lurie said he wanted to give Kelly the final say because he wanted to make the head coach responsible for each transaction.
As the Eagles' braintrust begins their search for their next head coach, the owner has a clear vision of what he wants in a candidate.
