Eagles EVP Howie Roseman calls Chip Kelly tenure a 'humbling experience'
Before Chip Kelly headed out of Philadelphia due west, Eagles executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman traveled all around the world pursuing knowledge to make the franchise a success.
Roseman's power struggle with Kelly is over. He's regained control of the player personnel department and he sounds like he's been reborn. The Eagles have new coach in Doug Pederson and a highly touted quarterback in Carson Wentz, and they've shed some bad contracts in DeMarco Murray and Byron Maxwell.
The 40-year-old EVP joined the Peter Schrager Podcast to discuss his 2015 Tour-De-Intel, the process for evaluating Wentz, and also a chance two-hour-long meeting with Jack Elway when he was young that inspired his career. The conversation about Kelly and his meetings with NBA and EPL teams begins at the 39:50 mark.
He stopped short of naming names of people he met with or things he regrets, but the flurry of personnel moves the Eagles have made since Kelly's firing are telling and have mostly been well-received.
Roseman also discusses the Terrell Owens era (22:30) and the formation of the "Dream Team" Eagles that included the Nnamdi Asomugha signing (30:45).
