Drew Brees on tanking for a draft pick: 'Our job is to win'

While the New Orleans Saints have now been officially eliminated from playoff contention, that doesn't mean that this team is going to lay down and go into "tank mode" as it's been called. Obviously, the idea there would be simply playing for a draft pick, something that the Saints players have no interest in even considering.

Via Katherine Terrell of The Times-Picayune:

"Our job is to win," said Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

"Not to be mean, but that's why they're fans and we're playing," said Saints safety Jairus Byrd. "Anytime you play, you play to win. It's cliche, but there's no tanking. There's jobs at stake. There's a lot more that goes on then just trying to get a draft pick."

This seems to be a consensus across the New Orleans Saints locker room, which is good news, even if some fans may not want to hear it. New Orleans will be all-in on Monday night to grab a win, even if it doesn't get them any closer to a postseason berth.
