Dorial Green-Beckham doesn't know why the Titans traded him

The Tennessee Titans made an interesting and somewhat surprising move this week when they traded second-year wideout Dorial Green-Beckham to the Philadelphia Eagles for an offensive lineman. The Titans are deep at receiver, but not with elite talent. Instead, their receivers are borderline starters with a noticeable lack of playmakers.

That’s what made the trade so shocking, given that Green-Beckham is a physical freak and would have been a top-15 pick if not for character concerns. Even he was taken back by the move.

He told the Philadelphia Inquirer he’s “not necessarily sure” why the Titans traded him, but looks forward to a fresh start in Philly.

"I think this will be a fresh start, new start, new teammates, new family, great family atmosphere," said Green-Beckham, via the Philadelphia Inquirer. "I feel like this is a brand new start."

Green-Beckham made his debut with the Eagles on Thursday night, playing the second half of the team’s 17-0 win over the Steelers. He didn’t record a catch but was targeted twice by Chase Daniel.

It will probably take Green-Beckham some time to get acclimated in Philadelphia’s offense, given that it’s certainly different from that of Tennessee’s. He’ll also have to work his way towards getting on the same page with Sam Bradford, seeing as he was just added Tuesday.

He’s confident about the future and thinks he’ll thrive in the Eagles’ offense.

“I feel like being in this offense, I can catch a lot balls, score a lot of touchdowns,” he said. “To go from one offense to another offense, playbook to playbook, home to home, you’ve just got to pick up on it.”
