Dolphins showing desperation, call Week 4 game 'must-win'
The Miami Dolphins have gotten off to a rocky start after suffering disappointing losses to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills the past two weeks. They sit at 1-2 and are at the bottom of the division with little sign of life early on.
In the NFL, every game can be deemed must-win, but it's not often that a team starts showing desperation this early in the season. For the Dolphins, the defense hasn't been able to stop anyone, and the offense has sputtered against opposing defenses. What's most surprising, however, is the fact that the Dolphins rank last in the league with just one sack.
After entering the season with huge expectations along the front for with Ndamukong Suh on board, this defense has been a huge letdown to say the least.
They'll get a chance to rebound next week against the 2-1 New York Jets, but their prospects of winning that game don't look overly positive.
"We gotta win next week. Next week is a must-win," center Mike Pouncey said via the Sun Sentinel. "If we don't win next week, there's going to be a lot of [angry] guys around here."
If the Dolphins fall to 1-3 they'll remain in dead-last place in the division, and they have yet to play the 3-0 New England Patriots. It's never a good sign when a team calls a Week 4 game "must-win" out of desperation, but the season isn't over yet.
