Dolphins hire Shawn Jefferson as wide receivers coach

The Miami Dolphins helped fill out new head coach Adam Gase's staff with the hiring of former Tennessee Titans wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson on Tuesday, the team announced.

Jefferson, who spent the past three season coaching receivers with the Titans, will work in a similar capacity in Miami.

After a 13-year playing career, Jefferson has worked as a coach the last 11 seasons. He spent eight seasons with the Detroit Lions before moving to Tennessee in 2013.

Jefferson worked with All-Pro receiver Calvin Johnson in Detroit, while Titans receiver Kendall Wright had a 1,000-yard season playing under his tutelage in 2013.
