Devin McCourty will skip Patriots' visit to White House for Super Bowl win

New England Patriots tight end Martellus Bennett is not the only player who will skip a visit to the White House in the traditional honoring of the Super Bowl champion.

Another would be Patriots safety Devin McCourty, who raised his fist in solidarity with Bennett before a game in September, joining players around the league making statements about social injustice in the United States.

In case you have been trapped under a couch, the Patriots defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in Super Bowl LI after a record 25-point comeback in the second half.

McCourty told TIME Magazine that he would not be going to the White House:

"I can't imagine a way I go there" he said. "Basic reason for me is I don't feel accepted in the White House. With the president having so many strong opinions and prejudices I believe certain people might feel accepted there while others won't."
