Derek Carr Wins Clutch Performer of the Week

For the fourth time this season, Derek Carr has been named the Castrol EDGE Clutch Performer of the Week.

Following another impressive Sunday outing, this time after a busted pinky on his throwing hand, Derek Carr once again named the NFL’s clutch performer of the week.

In the final quarter of the Carolina game, with a glove on his right hand, Carr went 8/10 for 116 yards and 1 touchdown. He threw a game-tying touchdown pass to Clive Walford and on the next drive, he led the Raiders up to field once again, which was capped by a Sebastian Janikowski field goal that proved to be the game-winner.

Evert Geerlings, who is in Media Relations for the Raiders, tweeted out several interesting factoids regarding Carr, the Raiders and this same award.

First and foremost, Derek Carr has been named the Castrol EDGE Clutch Performer of the Week four times. No other player who won it more than once.

Carr and Amari Cooper became the first teammates to win the award in back to back games (Week 9 and Week 11).

And last but not least, a member of the Raiders has now been awarded this honor five times in 2016, most in the NFL.
