Derek Carr Throws Game-Winning Touchdown on Fourth Down (Video)
Derek Carr is all clutch, throwing a game-winning touchdown for the Oakland Raiders on fourth down late in overtime.
After an ugly, penalty-riddled game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8, it looked as if the Oakland Raiders were going to be a part of the third tie in the last two weeks. With under two minutes remaining in overtime and after having already missed a field goal, they faced a fourth down from outside of the Tampa 40-yard line. Enter quarterback Derek Carr.
If you’ve watched the Raiders in 2016, you’ve seen how clutch Carr can be. The Raiders quarterback has already led multiple game-winning drives this season and simply rises to the occasion in big moments. However, his most impressive moment may have been on this fourth down against the Bucs.
Needing just a first down, Carr hit Seth Roberts on a slant route in the middle of the field. It was a strike and Roberts then bounced off of the Tampa Bay defenders and sprinted to the house for six points to end the game. Oakland wins:

Hats off to Roberts without question. To stay up and then go into a dead sprint after eating that hit is impressive. However, it just feels like Carr has a knack for making this exact type of play. If there’s a win hanging in the balance, Raiders have to feel like their signal-caller is going to make a play.
With the clutch game-winning play from Carr to Roberts, the Raiders moved to 6-2 on the season and 5-0 on the road in 2016. They lead the AFC West, looking every bit the part of the preseason darling they were pegged as. With Carr at the helm, they’re going to be tough to topple—he’s just going to keep coming until it’s over.
