Demaryius Thomas destroys Josh Norman on Twitter over 'shut down' comments

The Denver Broncos won Super 50. All historical evidence indicates that they did, indeed, beat the Carolina Panthers pretty soundly.

But for whatever reason, Josh Norman is living on that game, at least as far it relates to him holding up his end of the bargain.

In an interview with ESPN's Kevin Van Valkenburg, the Washington Redskins cornerback called himself the "best cornerback on earth" and said he shut down Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas in his final game as a Carolina Panther.

"I don't know what he was out there for," Norman said. "He was supposed to be an all-world guy, and I shut him down."

Yardage-wise, Thomas did have the quietest of games—one catch for eight yards.

Championship-wise, however, Thomas had the night of his life, and he reminded Norman of the larger game when he responded to his comments on Twitter.

Yup. Thomas dropped a big, diamond-encrusted L on Norman's mentions.

Welp. Big Gulps.

That's about as good a response as you can have to allegations of overrated. Norman might've blanketed Thomas for one game, but that whole thing where football is a team sport got him in the end.

We'll see where this goes. Norman is taking any and all challengers as continues to complete a full heel turn this year. The Redskins don't play the Broncos in the regular season, so there won't be an Odell Beckham-ish rematch between the two.

At least not before the postseason.

Dan is on Twitter. It's Josh Norman against the world this year.
