Delanie Walker injures hand in Titans' rout of Tampa Bay

On a day when pretty much everything went right, the news wasn't all good for the Tennessee Titans, as starting tight end Delanie Walker left Sunday's 42-14 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after injuring his hand in the third quarter.

Walker's hand was placed in a cast after the game, but X-rays revealed no break.

“I took a direct hit,” Walker said, per the Tennesseean. “The helmet hit me right on the hand. But I feel better already. We got good trainers. They want to be smart and make sure everything is OK.”

The 10-year veteran caught three passes for 43 yards and a touchdown before exiting the game. 

Both Walker and head coach Ken Whisenhunt said they were unsure how much time the tight end might miss, but will know more after Walker has an MRI on his hand. 

“We’ll have to see,” Walker said. “As soon as I came off the field, I could start moving my hand again.”

This is not the first hand injury Walker has dealt with this season. He missed Tennessee's first two preseason games after injuring his thumb in practice last month.
