Davon House: Jacksonville 'best decision I've ever made'
Cornerback Davon House signed a four-year, $24.5 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a free agent in March. As the team gets set to conduct a mandatory three-day minicamp beginning Tuesday, the 25-year-old said he can already tell he made a wise choice to join Gus Bradley's defense.
“I feel like I’m a playmaker and I’ll be able to show that in September,” House said, according to the Florida Times-Union. “I love it here. It’s the best decision I’ve ever made.”
House, who spent the last four seasons with the Green Bay Packers, is once again playing under DeWayne Walker in Jacksonville. The Jaguars' defensive backs coach was House's head coach during his final two seasons at New Mexico State. House said Walker continues to push him to improve.
"I get those mid-afternoon text messages about what I need to correct,” House said. “That helps me realize that I haven’t arrived yet and still have work to do. I have a goal and I’m going to reach that goal.”
House sat out last Thursday's final OTA session with an abdominal injurt, but said he expects to participate in minicamp.
