Daily Dawg Tags: The team cannot afford to go 0-16
Spanning the virtual globe to bring you the latest news about the Cleveland Browns and the NFL – these are your Daily Dawg Tags for Friday, Dec. 2.
As Cleveland Browns fans prepare for the rare chance to enjoy their entire weekend, the players must begin preparing for what may be the team’s best remaining chance to win a game this season.
The Browns are set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday, a game in which Robert Griffin III may make his way back to the field. What a year it has been.
The Bengals are struggling at 3-7-1 and, although the Browns are 0-12, the game may be the last chance for the Browns to avoid an 0-16 season.
The final remaining opponents after the Bengals are the Buffalo Bills, San Diego Chargers, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chargers are the only one of the three with a losing record, but they could easily be in the playoff hunt if not for several collapses late in games.
And while the past may have seen the Browns pull off some surprising upsets, it is hard to believe this team is capable of doing such a thing in 2016. Fans have had their optimism beaten down all season by this 0-12 season.
Regardless, the Browns need to pull off a victory in one of the final four games. Finishing 0-16 would not only rank this Browns teams as one of the worst teams in NFL history, but it would also do damage to the young players on the roster.
Going an entire season without a win is a horrible way to start a career, so let’s hope this team is able to piece together a complete game at some point in the final month of the season. Let’s take a look at that and more in today’s edition of the Daily Dawg Tags.
